A whole bunch of snow and cold weather didn’t dissuade April and Ethan from meeting me for their engagement session at Island Park in Downtown Fargo in the heart of winter!
Surprisingly, we managed to schedule engagement photos for one of the mildest days of 2019 so far. It was just around 30 degrees F, which meant that April and Ethan were willing to take their coats off for brief periods of time outside, too!
I often say I like adventurous couples, but even the most adventurous people aren’t always willing to endure freezing temperatures. Serious shout-out for this young couple for putting up with the cold for some of these pictures!
(I wholeheartedly think it was worth it!)
April and Ethan are a young couple, and when we first met I felt like we clicked right away. Much like my relationship with my partner, April is animated and talkative while Ethan sits back and listens, popping in every so often with a funny one-liner or inside joke that makes April’s whole face light up.
Speaking of, watching Ethan and April keep each other warm, make each other laugh, and happily kiss each other just makes my heart happy. I know I probably end up saying something like that about every couple I photograph, but it’s one of the lucky parts of my job — seeing the unique ways each couple interacts and expresses their feelings.
One of the happy accidents of meeting these two was that we met up at Babb’s Coffee House at my suggestion — well, it turns out that’s where Ethan and April had their first date! Much later, Ethan proposed while they were on a walk through Island Park.
So it just made sense for us to return to Babb’s and Island Perk for their engagement pictures — even if it was significantly colder than when Ethan proposed. :)
But we braved the cold, and the good news is — Ethan and April get married in July, so it’s sure to be warmer for their wedding than it was for their engagement pictures!
