Michelle | Downtown Fargo Branding Photos
Before winter got too snowy, I met up with my friend Michelle for branding photos in Downtown Fargo.
Michelle is a small business owner and has been wanting to refresh her website and branding. I was happy to help!
I first met Michelle through a local gluten free group in Fargo. Michelle helped to coordinate events, and she sought me out because of my food blog. I was immediately struck with how open and friendly she was. This gorgeous woman has such a positive outlook!
Her smile is infectious. Seriously, I found myself grinning like an idiot while staring at my computer screen editing her photos.
Michelle is a tarot card reader, fairyologist, and nutrition coach. Regardless of how you feel about that, there's one thing I can assure you: she's crazy insightful. She's passionate about moving people from a place of uncertainty and confusion to clarity.
During her branding session, Michelle and I talked at length about discovering who you are and letting that person shine... even if the people in your life don't understand.
We both discussed our recent experiences of leaning into passions and aspects of our personalities that we otherwise ignored. Whether we realize it or not, we sometimes get stuck in a mold of what our lives should be. It's liberating to break out of that mold and get in touch with our true selves.
Because of all that, part of Michelle's goal for her session was to show who she truly is. A goal I'm more than happy to pursue.
This session was incredibly fun for me because I got to try out my new lighting equipment! When I first embarked on this photography journey, I thought I would be a natural light photographer, but I quickly found myself attracted to the creative possibilities of off-camera lighting (as well as the versatility it offers).
Michelle's session was a great way for me to practice portraits using a single light set-up, as well as move from situations of great natural light to tricky indoor lighting.
