After the ceremony, as Kyle & Micki greeted and hugged their wedding party, family, and guests, Kyle looked over at his partner, now his wife, with tears filling his eyes.

That look, as Micki laughed and smiled and happily hugged their friends, was the look of “holy-shit-I-can’t-believe-this-is-actually-happening.” An overwhelming feeling of joy and rightness and anticipation of a life together.

Those definitely weren’t the only happy tears at this wedding. And that’s saying something, because it was definitely cold enough to freeze the tears before they had a chance to fall!

This wedding was a perfect way to kick off my 2022 wedding season — I loved the easy-going elegance of the day, peppered with nerdy elements like the epic dragon cake and the giant D20 guests had to “roll” at the receiption to get Kyle & Micki to kiss.

A super-emotional wedding ceremony is going down, and Tim-Tam kept staring at me with this expression. Priceless.
