Fun and laid back. That perfectly describes Garrett and Justine and how they are with each other.

These two were in a long distance relationship for quite a while before the pandemic, but since Justine moved to North Dakota after everything started shutting down, they’ve certainly had a few long months to adjust to being physically together! Justine and Garrett were both a little nervous before their session. Fortunately for me, though, Garrett definitely helped me out by joking with Justine and even anticipating what I was going to adjust before I could fully get a sentence out. Honestly, you’d think I’d have coached him through posing and photography, because this guy 100% ROCKED during the whole session.

And that’s not to say Justine wasn’t also a natural - all it took was one look at Garrett and the nervousness started melting away. Hard to be tense when the love of your life makes you giggle so effortlessly.

Being that their engagement session was in early spring, before things started getting green, we went to Forest River Park where long prairie grasses and evergreen backdrops make the scene look less lifeless. Honestly, it almost looks like fall! But in just a coule months these two will be getting married on a hot July day. Can’t wait!
