The day after a blizzard, I met up with Jackson & Kenzie for their engagement session at 20 Below Coffee in Downtown Fargo. If you think these two look familiar, it’s because they were a bridesmaid and groomsman in Austin & Ali’s wedding, which I posted about just a couple weeks ago!

When I first meet up with a couple, I try to learn as much as I can about their relationship and what drew them together. These two complement each other very well — Kenzie is a little more introverted and quiet, whereas Jackson thrives in conversation.

In fact, during the course of our first conversation, Jackson and I found out that at different times we’d both lived in the same townhouse just south of NDSU campus. We even confirmed it with Google Maps. Small world!

But more importantly, I learned how Kenzie was drawn to Jackson’s kindness and desire to see the good in people. Jackson admires Kenzie’s commitment to her faith, and they both echoed the importance of God in their relationship.

During their engagement session, I got to see Jackson & Kenzie’s utter ease with each other; they way they quietly joked and effortlessly cuddled with one another. Even though Jackson & Kenzie’s relationship is younger than many couples I photograph, they had the same type of comfort between them.

Jackson & Kenzie’s wedding is just a few months away — they are my first wedding of 2020 — so it won’t be long until I get to spend the whole day with these two! Hopefully we won’t have to worry about blizzards at the end of April. :)
